THE
CAPTAIN SPEAKS:
It’s such a weird feeling. We are truly not the band,
or the kind of people with our heads stuck up our asses. Reading
all the nice words from all you people out there really means
a lot to us.
I know many of you guys have lost your favourite band, and
I have to admit, so have I. But unfortunately, there were
nothing anyone could do about Biffs and Raldos decision. You
can’t pretend that you wanna be in a rock band 24/7,
it’s gotta be for real, and no one can blame them for
the loss of that certain feeling.
We had a great thing going though, and no one can ever take
that away from us.
In the beginning, sitting in the back of a shitty van, we
had that “us against the world” kinda thing going.
Later on, as the band grew bigger, I feel that we managed
to keep that spirit alive, but we were lucky enough to share
it with a lot of other people. We all know there’s so
much musical crap out there, and what we consider high-quality
music, is nowhere to be taken for granted. I guess a lot of
you guys share my opinion.
Being a fan of rock’n’roll gives you some sort
of, not just musical, but also social identity. I sure know
that, as a huge fan of a lot great rock bands myself. Wearing
the t-shirt, hat, a patch or whatever, is a statement towards
the people around you, you tell them where you belong. I’m
always proud whenever I see someone wearing the Gluecifer
logo, it makes me feel we’ve done something right.
The only thing that kept Gluecifer alive through all these
years, except for writing and playing the music we love, was
you guys. Rock’n’roll is all about entertainment,
and if no one cares about your act, you will lose the guts
at some point. We were privileged, we made our fair share
of fans, devoted people who were showing up everywhere we
came. Therefore, just to make sure you all know, our break-up
has nothing to do with a lack of devotion from you guys. In
the end it’s all about the show, and you guys made sure
we had a great time, whenever we hit the stage.
On behalf of the band, our props go out to every single one
of you.
These days we’re trying to figure out what places we
wanna pay a last visit. Some places are obvious, others will
be based on demand.
Even though there are different opinions about the decision
being made, I’m happy we’re still good friends,
so we go out there together, and play our last shows with
our hearts on our sleeves .
Speak soon,
Captain !
